took it apart and it turned out to be that a broken piece of plastic was blocking the tracks. I bought another broken changer on eBay, exchanged some parts and got it working again.

Does your cartridge go all the way down, before its rejected? If you flash a light down there, can you seen anything that might be blocking things?
