I've got Brembo slotted rotors, Goodridge SS lines and Tyrol Sport brake stiffeners (replaces the rubber caliper bushings with brass ones.) I run Hawk HP+ pads all around and use fresh DOT 4 ATE Gold fluid.
Since getting brakes set up this way I have never had an issue. As you can see, they do get a bit "brown" :-) On the other hand I've heard nothing but good about Stoptech and will likely do that next if I continue to track this car. Confidence in your brakes relieves stress.
One other observation. Last month at Road Atlanta a fellow Audi Club guy in a RS6 cooked his brakes twice. I changed the pads for him after the first time and was impressed with the HUGE 8 piston calipers and 2 piece rotors. It only took one more 30 minute session for him to cook them again and try out the gravel trap in turn 10. Bigger cars with bigger motors require more brakes. Especially if they are automatics and have less engine braking.
Tire Rack and Pure Motorsports are both good sources for this stuff.
