Brake help: Looking to get Mk1 TT. What are the common/economical upgrades...

I am coming out of a 06 GTI (which has great brakes) and used to own a B6 (which had crappy brakes).

I did a search, but didn't really find what I was looking for (could be my own fault.). I know you can always go BBK, but which is the most cost effective versus performance? How much unsprung weight will that add?

Are the brakes good enough with ss lines, fluid, track pads, and slotted rotors (The car will be used on the track.)? Where can I find ss lines and slotted rotors at a good price?

Can I mount other Audi calipers and rotors? If so, what will bolt up or if I need to get new carriers? How much unsprung weight will that add?

My main thing is cost versus perfomance. I don't mind spending the money as long as it is worth the money. Your help would be greatly appreciated in my decision process. TIA
