While there are many on here who paid a lot for their cars and maintained them with pristine condition, many of the people buying them now for lower prices are like me. I could never have afforded a $40K pricetag for a car, but have loved the TT style since I saw 8 of them traveling in a test run back in '98 heading for Minneapolis at 11:00 at night. Since then they have always been out of reach, but it hasn't changed my admiration for Audi's bold move towards style AND function that I believe created many of they styles other companies still hope to achieve with their new designs today. I finally got my chance after a promotion this year, and picked my '01 up with only 31k miles, and I love it as if it were new. I was out putting a 3 stage wax coat on it 2 weeks after surgery left me confined to my couch. I can't speak for EVERY new TT owner out there, but I think I represent a new generation of TT owners who work their ass off for their $18k car and probably put 10 times more effort into making it look like new than the 40 something rich guys / gals out there who drive it like a toy and never get their knees dirty to clean it after a sunday drive. The new generation is trying to learn how to do upgrades and repairs on their own, rather than just paying for some tech to do it because we want to know our car and understand it because we have pride in it.

That being said, it's people like the ones that have been on this forum for a couple years that help us realize the potential for our car, and your advice and guidance has and will continue to be the reason this car does not become another acura model that is overtaken by stickers and godforsaken aluminum spoilers. Have a little faith in us, and maybe some patience, and we will become a part of the tradition rather then it's downfall.

    Jim
