Default Whats your story about how you came to love your TT - Please Share

I had no idea that this thread I started earlier, about the fact that I love my TT, would start some really incredible stories, and experiences on how you came to love the TT, and how you came to get your TT, or just some really good story about the TT in general.

Below is a link to the post I made earlier today

Man I love this car!

Earlier thread with GREAT stories!

Default Saw the prototype in 96 and when I got home I told my wife...>>

thats my next car.

Ordered it on 11/99 and picked it up 02/00.

80,000 miles and several mods later, she (the TT that is) running like a champ.

I also have found a new family that share a lot of my feelings for the car. And for that, I'm better off.

This car has been a lovefest for 6 years and counting.

Share the love! (jumping off the box now)

Default only true 2 seat, properly sized convertible I fit in. >>

Not thrilled by power or handling from the get go. Mods began quickly. I absolutely loved the optic leather interior and would not have purchased w/o it

Default I couldn't afford an e46 m3, but wanted a German Coupe, now I can afford an M3, but

I have the TT, not bitter. Thats what I get for being impulsive, probably would sell TT if I had the time to do it and right price. But for now in the Chicago winters it has been a champ.

Default Saw it on the cover of R & T in 96, and thought it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen.....

in August of 99 I was looking for an S4 and stumbled upon some TT's on eBay, took another look, found an individual willing to sell his place in line for $3,000. With the blessing of Mrs Rascal I made the deal with him, purchased his car from a dealer in NJ, had it shipped to my son in Sun Valley. Flew out on 9/15/99 and fell in love for the second time in my life, well for the second time seriously. Drove it to Portland, then to Victoria, and then North to Fairbanks.

Those are not smudges in the photo those are snowflakes.

Default I was driving a 993 when I first layed eyes on a live TT....>>

it was sometime in '99 in Atlanta when they first started arriving. The Design blew me away..180FWD was of no interest though, but I knew the better stuff was coming.....Fast forward, sold the 993, Bought an interim Miata, Moved, big career change, yada yada.....Driving to work one day in late December of 2000, the dealer a mile from my house had just gotten a load of TT's in....In that batch was the TT I have now, same Denim Blue as the first one I saw in person. Made the deal that night after work, swapped the Miata, Salesman followed me home to pull some stuff out of the trade, and the rest is history....

Default First time I saw a TT (a silver coupe) I knew I would have one someday . . .

at the time I was driving a company car and was not shopping or needing another car. I saw that TT coupe in a grocery store parking lot and knew one day I'd have one. A year went by and I bought an A4 (TT was a little out of reach) and the whole 10 months I owned the A4 I knew I wanted the TT. One day on a whim I stopped at the dealer and they had a black TT on the lot; I made the deal and 2 days later I drove it home (April 2002). I love my car!

Default Was on a business trip to Germany and came across this unique car and went wow.

Check out the wheels. Seems this one had crank up windows inside.

After having a really bad experience with an M5, I decided Audi might not be so bad, since my previous one was a 5000s Diesel and had the most comfortable seats ever.

The guy in the picture is my son when is was 14 and is now 21 and in his 3rd year of architectural school. He is the only one to ever drive my TT besides myself.

Taken in a parking garage at a Dorint hotel.
