Default 15k service coming up on my 3.2 - Anyone bring their own oil to the dealer?

I'm thinking about the royal purple stuff... Any aftermarket oils out there for the Haldex? They change that at 15k too...

Do they generally allow you to bring in synthetics?

If you've used royal purple, did you notice an appreciable performance/efficiency change?

Certainly take your own oil and do use a synthetic...

I was worried that since royal purple is not SAE it'd void some warranty...

Default I have always provided my own oil...

Currently use German Pentosynth.

If Royal Purple is not meeting standards set as described in your owner's manual for Audi, it may interfere with your warranty. The bigger question would seem to be, if it is not meeting standards set, why is it being used?

As for the Haldex, I would let the dealer do the filter and lubricant there and not interfere with Audi recommendations.
