    after doing a search, here's what had worked for me (as posted below)..>>

    Step 1) With one key, turn the ignition switch on. Don't start the car, just turn the ignition on so the instrument cluster lights up.

    Step 2) Open the window. Not neccesary, just a safety precaution to keep from locking the keys in the car :-)

    Step 3) Close the driver door and lock it with the other key.

    Step 4) Hold down both the Lock and Unlock buttons on the remote for a few seconds (may be upt to five seconds). After a couple of seconds you should get the honk and flashing lights.

    Step 5) Open the door with the key, and turn off the ignition.

    Your remote should now work.
