2 days ago I posted about the bad Misfire, coil packs, wiring harness & MAF issue. Well I changed the 4 Coil Packs & plugs. Runs great except for some cold start misfire now. It's gone when the car gets warm. Mechanic says I need to change the wiring harness, is it deteriorating!!. Dealer says never heard of the problem before. So what you guys think ??!!. I was quoted $1800 to replace the entire wiring harness for the car, to be safe , cause who knows what's there that you can't see!!. The car 01 TTQC 180,48k miles. thanks in advance for your replys.

Actually I stand corrected.... (edited)
On the ATC at least the entire engine harness is only sold as one piece. I would buy new connectors for the coils and splice in some new wiring, personally, before I replaced the whole harness.

Dealer Says no coil harness , must buy >>>
the whole thing which is $ 754 , Labor about $600 . Did the 2001 have a heat shield originally?? , or was that somthing that was added on later models only??

See my edited post above... they are correct, HOWEVER...
I would NOT replace the whole harness. You can buy the individual connectors for each coil @ around $10/ea... you should have a competent shop splice in new wiring-- replacing the whole engine harness to correct this small problem is total overkill.
