TT changes
I have decided to add a TT Coupe to my 1995 S6 Avant and 2001 S4. I have been looking in Autotrader and there is a good selection of used cars available. What I cant seem to find on the Net is how Audi has changed the TT over the years. Are there any differences between a 2001 225 coupe and one made in 2003 or 2004? Is one year thought to be more desirable than others? Thanks for your input.

Pretty sure the FWD tiptronic became available in either '03 or '04 and...
most would agree that '02 was a pivotal year for the TT in that they got alot of the kinks out. Probably not all, but many. If I do replace my 2000, I'd get a 2002 ALMS. They seem to have been put together quite nicely.

The best pricing seems to be on the 01's as they are coming off leases
IMO: low mileage counts more than year of vehicle.
I passed on a couple of 02's with mileage in the 40 to 40m
for an 01 with 19m

some answers
The main difference between 2001 and newer are very minor.
In 2002-
-they did away w/ the roof antenna unless ordered with cell phone prep.
-replaced cassette deck w/ in dash CD player
-produced 1000 ALMS Edition TT's.
In 2003-
-they replaced front grill w/ sportier 3-bar grill.
-a few interior/exterior color combination changes.
-added 18" rims option
In 2004-
-introduced the TT 3.2 V6.
In 2005-
-the shark fin roof antenna made its debut.
In 2006-
-production of TT's limited to select states.
-introduced new red leather interior for the coupe only.
It's subjective whether or not one year is better than the other. I have a 2001 225 Coupe and have not had many problems(knocking on wood) but others here have had problems with their 2004's even, so it's hard to say.
Whatever you choose, the car in itself will bring you so much joy that you won't even care about anything other than driving it.
