Default Quattro Sport Conversion...Part 1 "The Boat Hook".......

Following TTall's QS conversion, I'd been thinking the same thing.. Yesterday while Aisle Cruising, I stumbled on the Bar....West Marine Boat Hook...Nice Matte aluminum, $14.98. I actually went in to get a piece of stainless like TTall used, but decided on this....(savings over OEM parts so far: $258.08)

<img src="http://images10.fotki.com/v205/photos/7/7305/2509263/DSC03930-vi.jpg">

Pull off the rubber handle (we'll get back to that) and drill the plug to fit over the rear seat latch stud:

Measure for length (In my case 37.5 inches but that is with the Stable Energy spacers), T-Slot the end after careful measuring to slip down over the opposite latch stud:

Make up 2 Retention/anti-rattle collars from the previously removed Rubber handle:

Voila! 1 hour and $14.98 later, bar done! Next up (when they get here) is the Net..

Default Just a mount point for the net..>

The harness bar that is also mounted improves rigidity a bit, but the car "really" does not need it..

Couldn't you have just used your harness bar for the net?

Default Not really...>

because of the net spacing. Here's TTall's picture:

Don't paint it, leave it matte finish, look around the interior, bare metal everywhere, go naked!..
