It appears YosemyTT has started the buzz regarding our last day, well ...(long)>>
PGTT, YosemyTT, and myself went back to the Dragon on Sunday. Took a nice drive up the skyway. Half was laid back and scenic. The other half was a nice aggressive drive up.

We three got three good runs in. Runs good enough that required cooling the cars off after each run. yeah, they were like that!

Note the speeds we were hitting on the dragon. I was able to get this shot off during one of the straights! (remember this is on the dragon)

Well, after the thrid run, PGTT decided it was time for him to depart and go home. YosemyTT and myself ran the dragon one last time before leaving. We were driving each other's car to make matters even more interesting.
I know all of you enjoyed Friday and the dragon was a great challenging run in the wet. Even the three runs we had up to that point in the drive was a totally different animal from what we all experienced on Friday.
.... I'm almost speechless trying to put this into words. YosemyTT and I got to run the dragon "WIDE OPEN!" for about 7-8 total miles WITHOUT traffic in our lane! Believe it or not, there was little traffic in the opposing lane which allowed us to push the cars to their limit.
The sun was right, the temp was great, the tires were awesome, the mood, EVERYTHING was just PERFECT! SAYING IT WAS THE MOST FUN I EVER HAD IN A CAR IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
We were both giddy and like little kids at the end of the run. Of course we had to let the cars cool down. We ate at Deal's gap trying to comprehend what had just happened. If Mark wasn't with me, I swear I would question the experience.
Cars cooling down after what Mark and I coined simply "The ride."

You would think that it couldn't get better. Well, you would be wrong. On the skyway back, we ended up behind a very skilled biker on a street bike. Let's just say that the biker took us on a ride through the skyway that was almost as breath-taking as the run we had on the dragon. It was a different experience, but a rewarding one!
I was able to get a quick video with my camera. Video here titled <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/ttakes2/TTeast2005/Menu12.html" target="_blank">"the skyway chase!"</a>
No tickets, No accidents, No problems with the cars. We parted our ways in Chattanooga and I went to see my mother. Mark, I can hardly believe to this day what happened that day on the Dragon or the Skyway. just fvcking awesome!

I knew you would find a suitable way to post about this :-D
That run on the Dragon and the chase with the biker along the Skyway were, simply put, the best time I have ever had behind the wheel. I've had time on tracks in various cars but your car on the Dragon and my car on the Skyway that day will be towards the top of the list of my memories as long as my mind functions.
Never have I been in such perfect conditions. Never had I thought that a public road could provide such enjoyment. Never did I think it was possible to love my car more than I already did.
Thank you for being there to share it with me because now all I need to do to recall this experience is to say: "Hey Ed, The Ride!"
Wow.
