What exactly is the difference between the "S" version and the rest of the K03 turbos?

What exactly is the difference between the "S" version and the rest of the K03 turbos?
I was told that 2004 models are equipped with the K03 S turbo, which is just slightly smaller in size than the K04 which gives greater potentials modding wise. Is that true? Also, is my car equipped with it as it's a MY 2004 180hp FWD? Thanks.

No, it just means that 180s equipped with a K03 reach their output in a slightly>>>
different way than a K03s car; I imagine its with a little bit different programming. The K03s may have a little more ultimate potential, but 180hp is well within the limits of both the K03 and K03s. Note that 150hp Audis and VWs with the K03 can approach 200 hp with a chip.
Just a more efficient design that they went with by switching to the updated K03s.

The K03s will spool up a tad later (K04-001 exhaust wheel)..>>
This means that it can flow more on the exhaust side before the intake (compressor) wheel reaches it's effiency limit.
