Samco Turbo Intake Pipe or Oettinger Turbo Intake Pipe

Samco Turbo Intake Pipe or Oettinger Turbo Intake Pipe
Has anyone done any before and after dyno/tests with the Samco rubber intake pipe?
I know Oettinger makes a metal one which my friend has in his S3 (same as TT) and there is a significant reduction in lag and improved throttle response (it was VERY noticable as a passenger) he also had the BMC CDA airbox and APR chip
I have the APR Chip & 2.5" cat back exhaust and his car was noticable more reposnive and less laggier
Can I get away with acheiving the same gains using the Samco hose or, is the Oettinger one the go? Samco is around $100 USD , Oettinger around $600 USD
Ideas? I have a 02 S3 which apparently has the improved airintake pipe (not the prone version)

Agree with Schwing, Samco intake. What makes his car more responsive is the less restrictive intake
The stock intake is way to restrictive becuase of (1) small inlet, (2) paper filter and (3) design of the air box (air has to take an almost 90* turn to before going into the maf housing).
If you want a better throttle response, get a some sort of cone filter, whether it be an open element (Airtek, with shield) or enclosed like BMC or TTschwings TTDA.
*Note: some debate about whether enclosed is better than open - my opinion is that its the design of the actual filter that makes more a difference, as not all cone filters are made the same, and the cooling takes place post turbo (i.e., fmic). However, a carbon fiber enclosure does look spiffy!
Good luck!
