TPMS compatibility between models
This might be a weird one. I have a 2018 TT RS. I swapped the 20" wheels off for 19s. I was going to sell the 20's but am now looking to get an A6 allroad as my family car. The stock wheels on it are pretty boring, but brand new. So I figure I might have a better chance selling those, and I'd rather nice wheels on it anyway. My plan is to get new tires, 255/45ZR20. What I was hoping someone might know is if the TPMS should be from the RS wheels or I need to replace them. I feel like I vaguely heard newer audis had changed the TPMS system. Starting in the TTRS forum as it's a bit more lively. Does anyone know?
Thanks

Most Audi's don't have in-tire TPMS sensors but rather utilize the MMI-ABS to calculate deviations in rotational speed to alert high/low tire pressures (threshold user-set in MMI).
The TTRS and some other RS, with the appropriate individual tire readout option, do have in-tire sensors.
Therefore in general swapping wheels from a vehicle using in-tire sensors to one that uses ABS calculations is not issue, the sensors just aren't utilized.
However note that the TT wheel hub diameter is smaller than most other Audi models. It's relatively easy to go from a larger hub diameter wheel to the smaller TT with the addition of hub-centric rings, 66.56mm to 57.1mm fitment, but obviously not possible the other way around.

I figured you’d come around to that realization. Obviously can’t use the smaller hub bore TTRS wheels on the Allroad.
Btw: I had a 2013 [A4] allroad and it was a very smooth and comfortable highway cruiser. Enjoy!

I added TPMS to my 2018 TTRS, you just need to buy the wire harness and antenna then of course the TPMS sensors for the wheels (Audi/VW). I purchased the extra TPMS sensors for the dealership, they sell them in a 4 pack which is cheaper than buying them individually. After you have the hard parts you’ll then need to code your car (VAGCOM or OBD11) to display them in you MMI. I have TPMS sensors in all my wheels including the OEM forged 20’s.

An answer to a question the OP didn't ask, but a valued insight none the less.
