Moving from TTS to TT RS - questions

gotta admit thought, I’ve always been a Z fan and looking at the upcoming 400z proto, I am trying not to think about getting her a stablemate.

TT RS stablemate
Back in the (olden) day, I owned a 3/4 race 240Z that was replaced by a bone stock 280Z. I really like what Nissan is doing with the new Z-car - but not as much as I like the Audi 5-banger. If there’s a TT RS in your future, I suggest you consider an RS3 as a second car, or daily driver, with the TT RS as the weekend recreational device.

Haha, I know I know... just thinking 5-6 years down the line when the updated NISMO comes out.
On a good note. Got word my order left on a boat from Germany couple days ago. Should make it to the states by end of March; here's to clear skies over the oceans! Checked the dealer page and I see an exclusive color on the way, so I'm getting close.
Good to day dream about while I wait for mine.

You mean end of February? Doesn't take that long to transit the Atlantic especially given VAG has its own ships.

Nope, no Panama Canal transit. Too expensive and many vehicle/container ships simply won't fit thru the long ago built locks.
Left Coast vehicles are receiving-ported in Houston, TX and then take rail/truck to dealerships.
Again, it really shouldn't take more than a month for the complete trip from Emden to your western dealership. My Northeast is typically 3 weeks, unless there is a delay in Customs and/or by in-port tech part/firmware updates.
edit: but given pandemic and thereby shipping/admin personnel shortages perhaps they build an add'l month into the schedule?

i was told by end of March by the Audi specialist I worked on my order with. I don’t know how long it takes. Germany through the Panama Canal, I assume, to SD. Maybe part of that time is sitting on the boat. Who knows. I’ll check back with the dealership at EOM to see if they have a scheduled delivery. The vehicle is already showing on the dealers site.

It's funny. My car was built in December and delivered in January to Syracuse, NY just as promised when the car was ordered back in August/September. We also ordered a new oven, built in the USA in early November and we still haven't received it...
