Default TT RS reviews - mixed...

Found the first couple of 'limited' reviews of the TT RS. As usual, it is mixed opinions & expectations. AM still keeping my order...read that Audi will be happy to sell 400 per annum worldwide. Damn, that is pretty cool.

I have also chnaged my specs to as follows;

1) Kept 18" wheels no 19" (seems the 19"s affects handling from the intial reports)

2) added Sports Exhaust (supposed to be VERY loud)

This is perhaps preaching to the choir but:

- the reviews do admit that it IS better than a regular TT, which is already a brilliant car- one that Fifth Gear called car of the year in 2008.

- 31MPG- my gosh this is amazing! None of BMW's cars give that kind of mileage, especially not on such a powerful engine.

- what percentage of time does one drive on the track vs on standard roads anyway?!?! Quattro lets you drive all year long and in snow. So you get to enjoy the car every single day.

- no one is going to call THIS a "chick car"!

I am envious. Congratulations and hope to hear your review of it.

It has a stick shift so, for me, that is a very, very good thing. The reviews have been mixed and that is only because Quattro GmbH has been hitting home runs every time up so writers who, I guess, were expecting a Cayman buster have their panties in a bunch.

Well, the review I was looking for is one with MR and thus far the few I have read with MR says it is a good car.

Interestingly I use a TTQR 180 as my daily driver and I find that car so much more fun to drive in the dry or wet - contrary to the reviews by the motoring press.

I prefer the TTQR to a Boxster 986 or the 996 - both were past daily drivers.

So I guess each to their own, eh?

TTRS will be a defining moment for the TT and Audi. This little rocket will be a classic IMHO, glad I have an order placed...can't wait for the delivery.

in the UK Coupe is £42k and Roadster is £44K.

Just got letter from Audi RS team - mine is being built as scheduled from Week 27 - which is from Monday 29th June and will be delivered on Week 32 - which is from 4th August.

I have NEVER felt this excited about a purchase. Damn I am in jitters...can not WAIT!

Insuance paid, booking tracker tommorrow and that is it. Private plate already bought.

Will be visiting dealer in a couple of weeks to pay balance...
