Who stated 272 hp? I don't think the Audi press release is out yet. Automotive News said 280 hp, but of course they could be wrong, too.

I like your picture but I cant agree that the car is weak. Performance and potential -wise it's the
closest thing to the original 225TT yet and the handling and power are well beyond that. Im sure it won't take much to get it to 350bhp and still get decent mileage. I'll take an unattractive front bumper and less than ideal rims for that anyday. That's what modding is for

What engine will we get in the 'S' - Is it the 306bhp one that he mentioned?
Even better! I guess the Audi official press announcement is Sunday, so we'll know in about 5 days what comes to the U.S.

The tuned VR6 seemed to be the frontrunner from what I recall...
someone *ahem* mentioned CAFE and other concerns about this engine, but said while it had not been completely ruled out, it did not seem likely at the time. Of course, this conversation took place a couple of months ago, so I don't know the latest.
