Default Installing new seat bottom cover. Tips?

The seat bottom on my TTS was damaged by a permanent stain (ink, I think), and I've ordered a new leather cover. I plan to have an experienced auto upholstery shop install it, but I'm wondering if there are any tips, hints, or pitfalls I should be aware of. Thanks for any insight!

Default Are you adding a cover or replacing the material?

I replaced the butt and back insert material on both my seats because it was light gray Alcantera that I knew I could never keep clean. I replaced it with contrasting leather. I had several folks look at the job prior, and they all said it would be nearly impossible to get the seat material and stitching to lay as flat as factory.

You are in an even worse situation if you are only doing one seat because any difference will be very obvious. Don't know who you are using but I would not replace material on 1 seat unless they guaranteed that the repair would match the stitching and lay of the other seat. And then find out in advance what they will do for you if you are not satisfied.

I solved my problem by having a thin layer of softer foam rubber added to the seat. It looks slightly puffy compared to factory but I thought the factory seats were a little to hard for my boney *** anyhow.

Let us know how it turned out
