help after crash pretensioners!!!
hi i crash my 225 tt and decided to repair myself i snapped susspension hub clean in half, bent the wishbone which damaged the subframe and damaged my alloy, the airbads deployed and i am assuming the pretensioners did too. i have fixed everything appart from the pretensioners because i am not to sure whether it is a good idea if i do them. i can get them second hand the only problem is my seatbelts are blue and finding them will be hard but i can live with black ones.
what i need to know is if i should get brand new ones from audi £££££ and have a professional to fit them or is it ok to do them myself as long as i use the right torx settings etc. does anyone have experience fitting them ??? i cant seem to find any info on the legal side of it and just need any advice. also just wanted to say that i have removed one and managed to free it up anbd it seems to work normally but is rattling inside. is this normal and how do i tell that they have definately gone off. hope this all makes sense
regards dan

In the end, you make the decision. I've had the belts off and on before, but the pretensioners have explosive squibs. You don't want to muck that up.
BTW Dan- take a long look at this ramble. It was a bit complex understanding your problem. Good luck.
