Default Wheel damage repair

I took my baby in to the dealership get the brakes checked because of some vibration. Turned out, my tires had a shifted belt and were fairly worn anyway. I knew I was going to have to replace them this summer at some point so I bit the bullet and got another set of Michelin Pilot Sports for it. The other thing I wanted to do was get the wheels repaired. One of the rims had some curb damage on it from the previous owner and it was a bit of a sore point for me. The other wheels had a few "bare spots" where it looked like the clear-coating had come off (high pressure spray?).

So, I asked the dealer who they used to fix these things and they told me they used a guy in Montreal. Should cost about $100(CDN) per wheel, they informed me. Today I got a call and their guy informed me that these weren't "standard Audi rims" (they're the RS4 style 9-spokes that came with the ALMS) and that it'd cost $240 per wheel.

Does this seem a little steep to anyone here? Am I being fleeced? I was under the impression it was a little cheaper to do this kind of thing.

I'm getting it done anyway, since I had the rubber of the wheels I figured I might as well, but this is turning into a costly set of tires. I do really like those rims, but part of me is wondering if I shouldn't just replace 'em.

Default I'm having a rim welded and refinished right now for my A4...

It had a crack and a few blemishes. It's an O.Z. Racing 17x8 Nova. Quoted $138 US.

Or you can buy used on eBay, or new replicas.

Default Looks like a fun repair. Good luck.

I got my wheels back yesterday and they look brand new. I'm pretty pleased with them. In the end, they only charged $150 per rim.
