Default Side Mirror Control Adjustment Switch

Any one know where I can get low price or working used mirror control switch unit ,mounted in driver door panel near window control *****/switches. The adjustment **** broke off. I actually took it apart and repaired the part that broke off by bonding a metal insert into the broken plastic, unfortunately it is not working. Is there a compatible VW part?
Part number
8N1959551B. This is for 2002 TT Copue Quattro. Denim Blue interior. I see a thread in Aug 2004 listing part number 8N0959565

Default exactly the same thing happened to me... same failed fix also :-) do it yourself....

i ordered the door switch from www.vagparts.com

john here has a great step by step but cant seem to find it at the moment.

removal of the door panel is really simple...

http://www.wak-tt.com/mods/doorpanel/doorpanel.htm

my tips are:
* don't cut the sound proofing foam on the back of the door... just lift if carefully along the glue lines... it will just stick straight back on
* window down before u remove the door panel
* window switches and handle need to be removed - this is not as daunted as it will look. the window switch box just snaps out
* after you have put ht edoor panel back on you just press the rubber door end covers back on - carefully use a screwdriver down the window section on the lock side of the door to wedge the door panel and permit you to push the rubber ***** back in on this difficult section (you will see what i mean)

Default shouldn't you be able to pop the switch from the top out? I did that with my

allroad. same basic switch...which snaps into the basic plastic piece to hold it.

Default Try a parts suppplier like VAG parts

There are plenty of used audi parts retailiers. It'll be a stretch for them to have to part, but you never know.

VAG Parts

Default you think that they would design it so it would snap out from the top without

opening up the side panels and all.
