18 inch wheels - Advice needed
Hey guys! I’m new to the forum.
I have a 2002 TT Quattro and I would like to buy a set of 18 inch wheels. Can you please advise me on the specs I should order?
I don’t know anything about wheels, but I am thinking 8.5 inches in the front and 9.5 inches at the rear? I know the bolt pattern is 5x100 but I don’t know anything about how wide I should buy the wheels (8.5 and 9.5 is just me making stuff up off the top of my head) and I don’t know anything about offsets. I suppose I would want the outer edge of the tires to be at the edge of the body, definitely not sticking out past the fenders. But your suggestions and guidance would help me immensely. Pictures of your cars are more than welcome.
Can you please help me? Thank you in advance.

In Performance VW I have seen TTS with 18 inch wheels at 8.5 inches and even 9 at the rear. So, I am hoping to learn what offsets I should order and what spacers I might need.

The specs on the stock TT wheel are as follows, 17" radius, 5x100 bolt pattern, rim width 7.5", Offset 32mm, can't remember the center bore and of course that is critical if considering non-stock (hopefully another forum member can help with that). Use the calculator here: https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator to determine correct offset in changing rim width. By the way it is unwise to use differing rim widths and radius on all wheel drive vehicles.
