Audi beefed up the front brackets, and there is a power and non power top bracket for the right side, if you don't have the correct one your windows will drop when the door is opened, but not go up automatically. Larger pins are installed in the soft top to match the new brackets. Make sure it's the whole kit and not just a top taken off another car.

In theory all you would need is the rear brackets if you replaced the hardtop front pins with smaller ones, but I don't know how the stock front brackets would handle additional stress, as the hardtop is more rigid than the soft top.
