Great write-up Rich. Converted to PDF. How many hours and people did it take?

Default Thanks all for the compliments. Do not be afraid! This can be done by someone with average

mechanical skills and the help of a buddy or two. Unfortunately the Bentley manual (IMO) is not written for the average owner, but between this walk-through and the Bentley, it's definitely do-able.

Default Took me about 6 or 7 hours,

sTTevo and nasTTcar help out where I needed, but sTTevo was working on his son's Jetta at the same time and John had to take off early. Plus we took a break for lunch and I was taking pictures throughout.

If I did it again, didn't stop to take any photos, I think it could be done in under 5 hours. If you had the car on a lift, all tools handy and two of you focused on it (i.e. ideal conditions), probably 3 hours.

Default Don't forget that Adam helped out there too. Anyone contemplating this job, be advised:

This is not the kind of job where massive consumption of beer is a good idea. Rich stayed really focussed throughout and never swore or threw tools. I admire his mechanical and technical writing skills.
