Ok my AW friends, I was in my first fender-bender tonight(long)>>
So this girl backed up into my right front fender and wheel; I honked thrice, but apparently her music was so loud she didn't hear that (admitted this later to the investigating officer). Immediately after the impact, I called 911 and had an officer come over. I was surprised at the way she went ballistic even though it was her fault...I just told her that I honked thrice, and she went `don't yell at me', `don't harass me' and finally, and more importantly, `go back to your country'. She was acting as if she couldn't understand my English, like ` what' `sorry'; I have been teaching undergrads and graduate students here for the last 5 years, and never had problems with my English. Anyway, the pics below show the damage:

I filed a claim with my insurance company (State Farm), and am going to see them tomorrow, but what should be my next step and what are the things to watch out for? She has admitted it's her fault. Sorry guys, I've never been in such a situation and so am asking for advice/suggestions; I searched and obtained a few tips but thought would ask again-sorry and TIA!

You go to the shop YOU want, do NOT let insurance tell you WHERE to go>
esp since she will be fronting the bill it will be much easier
They will try and get you to go to one of their shops...
For example, when I had an accident with the A4 they wanted me to go to the dodge dealer's body shop; thanks, but no thanks I said and went to a really good shop that was an Audi authorized shop
Ask your local forum for advice on good shops

as long as you got a claim or case #, then it's officially documented.
that way you know the info you got from the girl is legit.
i had a situation once where some rich-*** dude hit my car...asked me not to call the cops....said he would give me a check for all the damages, gave me his number, confirmed with some people that he was a big business owner in detroit....so i took him up on it.
it took me about 2 months of wrestling him on the phone to get him to send my check.....in the end he did, but it was a pain in the ****.
