Default Oil Pressure Light (teapot shape center console) comes on...

Hi all, I'v read through some posts and have seen conflicting reports wanted to see if anyone has experiance with this.

2001 TT 90k miles.

My Oil Pressure light beeps and comes on and off usually after doing some driving and coming to a stop.

Also just recently my temprature gauge has been all over the place usually very low.

I'v read it could be the temp sensor, which by the way I had previously replaced with the green one (about 2 years ago) perhaps that one died again and is causing this?

I have another temp sensor on its way, I was just worried i could do damage to the car driving it that way. I do oil changes my self with audi filters, mobil 1 0-40 and oil and never let it get too low.

Thanks for any help.

Default probably off the mark but I had an oil pressure sender where the

connector was put on backward. When I put it on the right way I never really felt a "click" you might want to check and ensure yours is properly seated, maybe it's come loose and is right there at the edge. Doubt it, (but worth the five mins to ensure its seated), based off of your water temp info.

Just above your factory oil cooler under the intake manifold

Default here is a couple of questions>>>

how new is your battery?

Not too many have had pressure issues....there have been a few....

Do you have access to a gauge you could install? VAG does not support oil pressure numbers IIRC....

Just a thought...

im also looking for pictures of the oil pressure sender and a site the sells replacements i will probaby try that if changing the temp sensor does not work.

Default hmmm.>>>>

i would only say this....double check that optima....I went through 2 redtops in as many years and BOTH failed without notice...

Check the voltage after it has rested over night...at rest it should be 12.4 volts or better...electrical gremlins can cause some weird problems...

You should check this with a voltmeter, not thru the HVAC....by doing this, you would eliminate one additional issue...IMO

Default Re: Oil Pressure Light (teapot shape center console) comes on...

I had this problem. The oil light would come on for 10-30 seconds when I came to a stop after coming off of the highway. I replaced the coolant temp sensor and the problem went away. It had been 2 or 3 years since I had replaced the coolant temp sensor.
