Not impressed with "QUATTRO" on icy road

The thing is, it happened when driving straight...`

Quattro isn't really all wheel drive
Everytime the front wheels spin the rears start to drive. It takes some getting used to but overall the car is much more stable than a 2wd vehicle. The Torsen system is full all wheel drive and is not really comparable.
The hardest part for me was learnign to stay on the throttle wehn drifting. if you let up too much you go into FWD and everything changes. Fast.

It's your tires, not the car. All-seasons simply don't have the grip for snow and ice.
Besides, you said yourself this was the first time you've been in ice and snow. At speed, you'll wiggle a little when you hit an ice patch. That's a hint that you need to slow down before you end up in the ditch.
Not even the almighty Torsen will keep you out of the ditch if you are going too fast in poor conditions with all-season tires...
