Default Great point on the OCD - LOL... I agree with you>>>>

When I think about the stuff I "fixed," 70% was really optional or an upgrade/mod... Even the instrument cluster I replaced - there were just about 8 pixels out, nothing drastic - it still functioned...

Agree 100%. I expected much more in terms of quality when I plunked down $40K for this car.

Default I feel your pain, friend. This was my first and will be my last Audi. In the past 6 years,

my car has never had every thing working as it should, starting after around 5K miles.

On top of that, the dealer service is horrid. That's what really did it for me.

Default I have a an 01TTQR and an 01A4 Avant....almost zero problems after the first few months.

I love both of them and look forward to driving them every day. By the way, both have some performance upgrades and are used on track on a regular basis. The TT has about 20 track days on it.

I'm on my 3rd TT. '01 & '02 were unreliable lemons. The '04 3.2 has been nearly flawless.

Ever seen the oil change ticket on a 911 or Ferrari 430...the TT is a bargain!!!

Default yeah but you don't see those driven daily as the owners are even afraid to park it anywhere

lets get real here, I am a bit more practical than someone buying a $100K car just so they can say they own one but never drive it.

Default My complaint is not with the TT, it's with German cars in general

We pay too much money for them to have as many electrical problems as we do. I know it's not limited to Audi, I've seen lots of mention on BMW and Mercedes sites as well.

Default Repair costs should be low to nil for a while now unless you're unlucky.

You happened to buy the car at the mileage that requires a timing belt changing. As for the clutch, perhaps the previous owner abused it. Hard to say.

I have had to do minimal repairs on my 2000 TT. It has been my daily driver since I bought it.

Yeah, it sucks to spend $2500 on repairs, but you bought a high mileage used car. What did you expect?
