New TT Q225 Roadster owner question
I recently bought a 2006 TT Q 225 Roadster (22,000 miles) and have been reading this forum for a while now – very good information. I have a question about all the listed problems (TB, water pump, Cluster panel, glove box, etc.,). Since 2006 was the last year for this body style, does anyone know if Audi made any corrections for these issues in the later years 2005-06?
I really like this car – great fun driving. This was my final choice as compared to other roadsters. The quad handling is excellent. I almost bought the Honda S2000 – very nice at top end RPM, but very ordinary at lower RPM which is more common daily driving. I test drove a few S2000’s while roadster searching but on 2 separate occasions I had someone comment “how they liked that Miata”. Thus ended the S2000 search.

Some answers
TB - no change since 2000. Replace every 60K or 5 years whichever comes first, or be prepared for an engine rebuild.
WP - Later years used a metal impeller instead of plastic which reduces the probability of failure. Still, always replace the WP with the TB.
Cluster - Fixed by 2002
The TT vs 2000 debate has raged for years. My own observations are identical to yours. Looks like a Miata from a distance and performance is unremarkeable at "normal" rpm. The 2000 is a better choice for a track car IMHO.

The glove box latch was also improved
My 2004 has an improved latch compared to my old 2001. Don't remember when they made the fix.
