Default KONI Challenge TT Racing downpipe

The photo shows a stock 225hp TT downpipe on the right, and our racing 3" downpipe on the left. The 3" is about 36% larger in total diamter than the stock downpipe. We use the stock piece coming off of the turbo, as it is about 4" in diameter and has a nice expansion chamber to it. We then use a shorter flex joint and mandrel bent SS that is a full 3", custom fitted to the space available on the TT Quattro. We then wrap the exhaust with header wrap to keep the heat in and from cooking everything around it (it will glow red hot). The exhaust is one of the key elements to making good power in a turbo car.

For the rest of the exhaust, we have fabricated a full 3" mandrel bent system that exits out the stock location. The Grand-Am KONI Challenge rules mandate that the exhaust exits out the stock location, or else we would just dump it as soon as possible out the side of the car.

Very cool...any rubbing issues? My downpipe seems to have less than 1/4" in any direction

The picture is of the KONI challenge REVO TT without the grille, which shows the Mocal oil cooler...you can just make out the FORGE FMIC....and what you don't see behind the screen is the Fluidyne racing radiator....it has a 2" core. We took one of our racing radiators from our AUDI Grand-Am cup S4's and modified it to fit the TT.

The piece at the bottom in red is a front jack point...it extends up into the aluminum bumper...if we want to change just front tires, we can jack up the front during a race and get both at the same time.

No...it is mounted in such a way that there is clearance....but, the engine is more solidly mounted than in a street car, so there is less movement.
