Just bought a 01 TT Roadster got some questions
I just got it yesterday, it has 62K on it and he hasn't done the timing belt so I am planning on doing that shortly. So here are my questions.
1) low beam headlight went out on the way home, I see the HID bulbs on fleeBay for 30 bucks and direct for like 80-100 bucks. What am I missing?
2) The guy drilled 2 small holes in the light cover (said to help dry it out) well it is soaking wet in there should I wet-vac it out and then seal the holes?
3) He installed a Nuespeed chip, catback and intake. What kind of performance gains do I get with that?
4) the Climate control display is missing pixels (or whatever they are called) can that be fixed or does it need replacing.
5) the six disk changer only reads disc 2 and says (no disc) for the rest, fixable?

Hmm..
Get OEMs. screw the eBay crap.
Stoopid owner. If you can, let it dry and out pop a little silicone inthe holes after it dries. Imagine moisture's effect on your bulbs
STage 2: may 25-30 hp, not sure on the tq.
Replace
Clean the CDC: get some contact cleaner, AND also I bet your CDs could use some cleaning. DO both.
Welcome to the addiction!

Buy good Philips direct from England
Free shipping, and US$45 or so for the pair- MUCH better than US-spec bulbs in whiteness and clarity.
Philips Vision Plus H7 - (Plus Free - Philips Vision Plus H7) - £24.95 x 1
FREE Philips Blue Vision W5W - £0.00 x 1

Power Bulbs

Good chance it's not the bulb....>
Swap them left to right to be sure. The Bulb Igniter is a more common faiure and requires pretty significant disassembly to fix..

Jeff has some pretty good info here..
