Installed Bilstein HDs a few months ago..kinda harsh ride...>>

It'll probably smooth out a bit with miles
but the H&R coilovers I installed to replace my Bilstein Sports definitely ride nicer over most surfaces, most notably on sharp impacts.

You came from a car with essentially no damping...>>
at 100K they were toast, to a car wth correct damping. IMO the Bilsteins are about perfectly matched to the TT Chassis..

36 psi is good for ride... if you noted on the chart, it calls for 3 lbs
less in the rear tires... so you might try 36/front with 33/rear
some find "even up", with the same all around better for handling. But I've always liked the rear at lower pressure. I find no handling loss and the ride is better
also, the upper strut mounts discussed above /\ come in two flavors: OEM and junk
there are aftermarket in distribution that do not fit properly and are super hard
result: lousy ride with sharp impacts
If you bought yours from ECS Tuning for example, you might get a set from a Vdub or Audi dealer and try them. You'll notice a huge difference in ride quality
A post earlier today asked about transfering the stock bumpstops from the factory shocks to the Bilsteins. If you did this you'll want to remove them immediately. Bilsteins use internal bumpstops in front, and the rear is built into the spring perch... so, no external bumpstops on the Bilsteins, front or back
