I'm still having issues with my SB OFE clutch even after a master cylinder replacement. The clutch internals, including slave, have only 8k miles; the DMFW was resurfaced. Yet, I am now getting a slight notchy feel at the top of the pedal upon clutch disengagement (pressing down on pedal) and only intermittently.

Default take it back to the shop that did the clutch

they should power bleed it for free if they guarantee their work... I don't believe that will solve the issue tho, no clue what that could be..

and at least you don't have the DMFW problem the 01's have... :-( my car shakes like a banshee from 2400-4000 when she feels like it.

Default yeah, I'm suspecting my slave is pulling a James Dean!

sorry to hear about the shake, rattle and roll part..

8K for a slave going south sucks if that's what it is....

i'll probably go with the heaviest single mass i can find.

Default that may not be your problem.....resurfacing DMFW is rarely recommended>>>

due to their design....I am not saying that it is the flywheel, but it could be...

Here is one of MANY articles on it.

http://www.autocarepronews.com/default.aspx?type=art&id=83015&</a

Default hmmmm, according to the mechanic, a micron amount was shaved off...

i don't know if he used an engine lathe or grinder....so some of the tortional mass dampening ability may have have compromised....also, i don't think our FW come with springs that can break off.....

Default almost every recommendation i have seen regard DMFW's say replace with new>>

when you do a new clutch....i am sure you can make a case if there is brand new FW and clutch and the clutch fails in less than 10k....

There is way more to a DMFW than just the contact surface with the clutch....

Just sayin'

Default well when I open her up again and discover it's the slave sieving

I'm still gonna change out the FW with new bolts...lesson understood and I'm s still kicking myself for not changing it out the first time....
The only saving thing I have here is the peddle doesn't always return up completely..i use my foot to take up the last inch but only does it intermittently...this may be another sympton of FW weakness.
Thank you for clarity!

Default

I've used a syringe. More positive suction than my mighty vac. power bleed is overkill, but works

Default what symptoms did you have? lazy pedal, notchy clutch pedal

weak pedal, and does it mimic a failing slave cylinder?
