How much heavier is galvanized steel vs. stainless. Trying to decide on KW group buy.
I don't think the stainless steel KW INOX series is worth like $700 more than the galvanized (group buy price), weight-savings-wise, is it?

yes, SS is marginally heavier than steel
~2.5%, and the galv coat leaves little mass. But sttel structures can be made lighter than SS.
This still doesn't answer the original question, for which the manufacturer would be the one to ask.

Generally, stainless is up to 10% heavier than regular carbon steel, but....
...galvanizing adds from 3-10% to the weight of carbon steel (depending on the thickness of the coating)....so galv. & stainless end up being about the same. ....at least from what I've read. The weight difference between the two should be negligible for his question. Only one way to find out; ask the manufacturer.
