Default 2001 TT transmission problem!

Not sure if this was already asked, if so I'm sorry. I've looked and can't find anything describing my problem. ANYWAY!!

2001 Audi TT manual 5-speed transmission with 95,357 miles. Started noticing a couple days ago that when I try to shift down and into reverse it drives forward instead of reverse. I have to keep trying multiple times and it will finally shift into reverse. It feels as though it kinda clicks when it finally shifts into reverse and I have to push a little hard for it to go into gear My transmission also grinds a little sometimes when I shift into second from first. Any idea?! Please help!!

Possible worn clutch. Otherwise the linkage adjustment screws/bolts have loosened and came out of proper adjustment.
