HELP-----NO power roof button mystery?!
Greetings All,
Wondering if someone can help me understand a 2001 TT Roadster I am about to purchase from Illinois ?
The car is a clean Carfax example, Nimbus grey with optic baseball interior,1.8 turbo 225 hpw, Quattro, 6 speed, dual exaust, premium package with heated seats. The vehicle is great except there is NO power roof button on console near beverage holder where it should be right below the rear glass windscreen button!
2001 Quattro Roadsters have this as a standard option with the ability of manual use as many know-----I am trying to determine if this is a chopped up car with an incorrect VIN?! The car is in excellent condition and selling from a reputable used car dealer.
-Confused

Look for fuses for power roof operation. If there's no fuses it's a manually operated roof. If there is a fuse then someone has put a coupe centre piece in. If the piece is easy to clip out you may find the plug for the roof switch sitting under it. Hope this helps.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Power tops were standard on the 2001 225 & optional on the 180
for USA sales. All 180 roadsters were FWD. This car could be a custom order, or non-US.

Custom orders - almost anything is possible
You could pay extra to buy a car that did not conform to the USA options but manual tops are extremely rare and I think would reduce their resale.
