Default Help needed with Radiator hoses!

Kinda new here, so I am not the greatest at mods of course.

Recently, my lower rad. hose developed a hole somehow and left coolant all over my driveway one night. While not being aware of this issue, I started the car the next morning to go to work, drove it for about 5 minutes and noticed the temp gauge shooting up. I immediately shut it off, turned the heat on high, and pulled over. It was towed home. The tow truck guy was the one to notice the remains of the coolant dripping out of the hose.

You think the motor is still fine? I am worried about my head gasket/possibly warped head. Anything I can do now in order to check it? i would rather not have to wait for a tow truck again and miss work again.

Also, since I am getting new hoses, I was looking at these:

Any help will be appreciated!

Default Hose issues.

If you didnt run it for an extended period into the red, you will be fine. After a TB change, I didnt secure the drain valve properly on my TT. Well after the pressure built up, my coolant went bye bye. I still made it home with some creative cooling. That was 100K mi ago!

One recommendation would be to replace the plastic neck & O-ring on the block where the lower radiator hose connects. You might as well replace the thermostat while your there. Your block has two of these necks (one for the upper and lower hose), and both eventually get eroded and begin to leak. It cost less than $20 bucks and will save you down the line.

Good Luck.

Default Also..

The Audi lower coolant hose comes with a new valve and plastic fitting on the radiator side. If you were to use a aftermarket hose be sure to purchase to new valve. I myself like the Audi coolant hoses. I think the vaccum hoses they make are a joke though.
