Donor Wiring Harness issues
So I took my new wiring harness apart from the point it crosses the firewall, I pulled all the spare connectors and the ecu relay etc back behind the firewall and then rewrapped it. The ecu relay will now be with the rest of the connectors in the encolsed case that feeds the cockpit. The others are all rewrapped and for the SAI relay (even though it's not going to be used I sealed it up in a ziploc bag. The end idea was to keep all the empty connectors out of the engine bay and reclaim the space where the relays were for other uses, but without cutting off unsed connectors in case I ever want to hook them back up I'll have the option.
All finished and was getting ready to put the harness back in the car when I realized that the ecu location was off by about 6-8inches. Look at the pic where my cutters lay. Now I'm going to have to cut the harness and do a bunch of soldering and heatshrink work right near the ecu due to this crap.
Lesson learned, if you do a wiring harness swap to get the wideband ecu make sure it's from a 180 TT or a 225 with wideband, my donor harness was from a GTI and I guess it's ecu place ment is about six-eight inches closer to the driver than on the TT.

Live and learn, basically what I learned is...
that if I'm going to get screwed I'll screw myself and save the money becuase I'll only have to do it twice, the first time where I learn and the second time where I get it right.
There are some exceptions, such as the custom head work that QEDPower did for me, or the exhaust/DP work that Fast Intentions and BlackSheep Performance, and finally there is SoulSpeed which does my cornerbalance work, but other then those I'll keep the car in my garage before I pay someone else again.
