I'm considering the Votex front lip now, but can't seem to find a picture of it on a Canadian spec bumper. The only ones I've managed to find are the Rieger pics on the lltek website.

I have the tumors. I'm getting the Votex front lip fitted now...
No pics yet as its in the shop. The tumors do not get in the way for the Votex.
However, I am also changing the front bumper from Canadian to US (to remove the tumors).
Cheers,
Paul.

I've been told by a few that the holes will eventually sink after a while if filled...
This happened on my A4 when I filled the license plate bracket holes and marks show up after some time. I maybe just have to switch to US bumpers then.

Tumors are mandated by Canadian DOT, right?>>>
I am curious about what happens to TT's that have the tumors removed at time to trade in or sell. Do they have to be returned to Canadian specifications?
I will guess that in a private party sale, one might get past having to retrofit. What happens if one choses to trade in to a dealer? My guess would be the dealer would discount the trade because of the costs of retrofit to Canadian specifications.
Does someone have the answer?

Tumors are mandated by Canadian DOT >>>
I think as long as the car passed provincial safety inspection, it should be legal. The DOT specifies a higher bumper speed than US which is the only reason we have the warts/tumors. Safety inspections only cover obvious defects like lights, horns, glass and other safety features.

But a dealer has to comply with DOT, not just a safety inspection...>>
and from the DOT point of view the tumors and bumper speed is a Canada requirement. Therefore, I think on trade in a dealer would reduce the trade price by the amount needed to restore the DOT spec if the warts and tumors were removed.
My point being that when a bumper speed item, i.e. safety item according to Canada DOT, is removed, it may not be legal for a dealer who has a business license to handle selling the car in modified condition if the mod is a safety item.
So, when the warts are removed for appearance, the cars fair trade value is diminished by the amount needed to restore the vehicle to DOT standards, would seem to be a reasonable and logical assumption.
