Default decisions decisions... new TT or an Alfa Romeo Brera (with no dealer support)?

At some stage I'm going to have to replace my TT with something new.. The new TT is growing on me, and we do have an Audi dealer here in Trinidad, but the Brera is just soooo sexy. If I go for the Alfa I'd bring it in privately from the UK, but am apprehensive about servicing etc.

Any European forum members with direct experience with the Brera? Would welcome comments...

Default TT Mk2

Brera mybie looks nice, but everything else isnt very good. Quality is low, car is heavy, slow, I dont like interior...

TT Mk2 is much better choice - car looks great, interior is great, it is great in corners and is quite fast (faster than Brera), and quality is much better.

I am chosing between Porsche Cayman and TT Mk2, Ive already tried 3.2 V6 quattro manual, it is great car - very big step forward than mine Mk1. Ive got KW2 with some modifications on platform, setup was made on race track by a friend, who race, but in corners new TT feels much better than mine with those modifications. I am waiting to try 2.0T (our dieler will get it in next days) and then I will decide. I want turbo and quattro, I hope it will soon be offered, if not, I will have to chose 3.2 V6. But new TT impressed me much more than Porsche Cayman, that means that new TT is really great car.

You will regret very soon if you chose Brera..

Default Are you aware of the cost to certify a car like the Brera, to make it street-legal in the US?

I would say (maybe conservatively) $10-15K, on top of what you would pay for the car in Europe, where you'll be hammered on taxes and the exchange rate. What will you end up paying, $60K???? For that? I agree that it looks cool, at least from some agles, but it has tended to fall on it's *** in all the reviews I've read, comparison or stand alone. Jesus, for $60K you could buy a Cayman S here in the US with some options, and it's all hassle-free. If you are already aware of all this and still want to do it, sorry for telling you something you already know.

I think it's going to Trinidad, no Federalization needed.

Agreed. Brera is sexier, but you've got to consider more than just looks.

Default You`re welcome :-)

I dont know if you already tried new TT, if you didnt, dont make decision before you try it. When dealer called me that TT Mk2 3.2 V6 arrived, I hoped that I wont like it, because I always wanted Porsche for the next car. But when I saw it in flesh and after I had tried it, I know my choice for next car is TT and not Cayman, because TT impressed me more.

And I was one of those who didnt like new TT on photos... but now I love it.

Ive got info that next year Audi will offer TT 2.0T 230 hp with quattro. This one would be great choice... but I dont wanna wait that long

Default BTW

Here is new Autoexpress`s video of new TT. This sound is amazing.

Whatcar magazine made comparison between TT Mk2 vs Z4 Coupe vs 350Z, and TT won.

In "Auto Moto und Sport magazine" (one of favorite magazines in Germany) was writen that new TT is faster than Z4 and even Porsche 987.

Ive got scans, I can send you on email if you want them.
