7 years after selling my 2001 roadster, I'm back with a 2006 special edition roadster. Looking at the options for mounting an iphone holder, and am leaning towards the Clearmount system. One option they offer is a MagSafe connector that will actually charge the phone, connecting to power via a USB-C cable. My question is whether anyone has employed this system, and whether anyone has had success in hiding the USB cable running to the MagSafe charger mounted between the front vents.

I had the pre-MagSafe version and it was awesome. Installation was designed specifically for the Mk 1 and is excellent.

I currently have the same pre-MagSafe and agree, great fitment, construction and design, still very happy with mine

Still using a ModShack “Gadget” I bought from Steve nearly 20 years ago. Ram mount is a bit bulky but it’s very solid. Clear mount is a copy of what Steve created and sold I believe.

FYI that Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter combined with an old cassette to 3.5 mm adapter works far better than you might expect.

Did you run power through the dash and out the vent, just run a cable up from the cigarette lighter, or something else?
