Check engine info!
Hi. My 2001 Audi TTQC check engine light up. I will have service in 800miles for a 40K service. Is the check engine light relevant to it?
Thank you.
Thank you.

No, it is not related to the service. Is the check-engine flashing or steady? If it is flashing, you shouldn't drive the car. If it is steady, you can wait, but pay attention to how your car is behaving. Personally, I hate not knowing why a check engine light is on.

There's a reason that the CEL is also called the "money" light.
Get the code read at your local parts store.

FYI code that is stored is an OBD II code and is probably an emission related problem. The codes are in the form P0302.
If they can't pull the code it may be Audi/ VW specific so you would need a Vag.tool or Vag.com to check it. These codes are not normally related to emissions and are not part of OBD II spec.
Here's a list of P-codes and a corresponding list of Audi/VW codes.
