Re: Blinker relay replacement... Piece of cake
I am having problems with my blikers also. I am planning on buying the blinker relay but I am not sure of exactly what to buy. Is this the one that has the hazard button attached to it? Please help.

Alternative Radio Removal Tool
I went to Best Buy to have them remove my radio. They did not have the tool for my 2001 Audi TT. I researched and found out that it is the same tool used for the VW Bug. So, they used that one and it worked perfectly.

Re: Blinker relay replacement... Piece of cake
Great write up. If I had to add anything I would mention that this is much easier with a flashlight and that the lever you pull down to release the switches does not just move up and down but front and back so make sure to feel where it clips in. I struggled with mine for almost 20 minutes before I realized this.
Anyways, thanks again! I've successfully done my first Audi repair. Woot!

Re: Blinker relay replacement... Piece of cake
Dear Sir,
I want to thank you for the instructions. I absolutely love this forum and this community. I just replaced the relay... and with your post - it took just 20 minutes... it would have taken 15 but I did struggled with the radio key a bit. Again, I thank you. By the way, the stealer wanted $480.00 for the repair... ha ha ha!

Snapping the lever back up into place
I had a lot of difficulty with this. Actually I missed this step the first time around as only the left side unsnapped. A month later when my left seat warmer control punched into the dash did I realize I had a problem.
Apparently, there are 2 places where this lever snaps in and out. When you unsnap both of them, the bar is obviously hinged and freely moves. They seem to be 3/4 to an inch from each end. Using both hands I was able to get both snapped into place at the same time. (I had no luck snapping them one at a time.
Thanks to the original poster. You're clear instructions were really helpful.
