225 coupe. shuts off and wont start for hours.. HELP
I have a 2001 225 coupe. I am able to start it and drive from 10 minutes to 2 hours before it stalls out. It only stalls when the car is stopped and im not giving it gas. I do not get fuel to the pressure regulator during this time but after a few hours it starts up. Not sure if the warmer weather can be an issue. I replaced the relay and am replacing the fuel filter. Maybe ECU issue? If it was the pump it wouldnt start back up correct? Please help a fellow German engineering nut out.. thanks

Next time it stops, unplug your MAF. Then the car will go into limp mode but will probably start and run enough for you to get home. It'll need a scan as the problem could be a number of things, ie boost leak, n75 valve, the maf itself.
Cheers.
Cheers.

fuel pump fixed
a new fuel pump fixed my problem. I broke down and bought the Ross-Tech reader and a Bently manual on CD only to find that there is no fuel pressure sender.
So, i removed the fuel return line and jumpered the fuel pump through the fuse box. No gas, then i took loose the fuel supply at the injector rail, plenty of flow, but (having no pressure gauge) i blocked with my thumb, so there was much less than specified pressure.
i was fooled by it stopping in the driveway, all the comments on bad fuel pumps indicated they would run for an hour or two before stopping.
i have had several instances of the immobilzier shutting it off, but resetting the key with the lock and unlock buttons has always fixed that
