AoA Mk 3 TT press release during LA auto show says auto only
Saw it on one of the Mk 3 boards. First models sold in the US will be the Base TT coupe and roadster and TTS coupe. No mention of if or when a TTS roadster will be sold. Still hope for the TTRS to offer a manual. USA fuel economy standards are forcing the auto trany because they get better gas mileage. Cars wil go on sale this summer. No mention of price but the Mk 3 now being sold in other countries have had substantial price increases over the Mk 2.

im sure they will sell every unit, and im sure it will be 'better' in every respect to the mk1, other than the classic throwback style. It is, IMO, getting too in line with 'corporate audi' (not a bad thing per se).
the mk1 kinda reminds me of my MGB and MGB GT - simple classic sports car, which is what I like. The mk3 (and mk2 to a degree) is getting away from that and going more to cutting edge technology, while not a bad thing, it isn't what I am in the market for.
the mk3 sure looks better than the mk2, but neither get me excited. I can appreciate the advancement and quality, but not something i would like to own.
be totally stupid to not offer a manual. I understand why, but don't agree.. its retarded at best
