Bluetooth in an '04 A8
Been reading on the A8 D3 forum about using a BMW BTUM puck in the V60 cradle to get basic bluetooth pairing with phones other than the V60.
Encouraged by this, I went out and bought the puck today and put it in my existing V60 cradle....and got nothing. The bottom edge of the puck connects fine, and at the top, the puck rests on (and is supposed to press down on) two retractable prongs in the cradle: one black plastic in the upper center, and one gold metal on the upper right. The black prong depresses as it appears it should because it hits the back of the puck when inserted. But the gold prong simply recesses into a screw hole in the back of the puck and is not depressed or making contact with anything on the puck.
I'm assuming this is why I'm getting no light on the puck and can't pair....others have said they simply inserted the puck and it worked....what am I missing? Did I just blow $295?
Any help appreciated.

Re: Bluetooth in an '04 A8
I bought mine (BMW dealer) for my 05 a8 and it worked out of the box. Did nothing other then to pair the treo 700p to the puck.
Sorry I can't help you. Do you still have the v60 phone? If so or can borrow one you can see if you can at least try to call with it and see if you get a message from the carrier or not. If the phone won't work the puck won't work.

Re: Got it, already discovered this, upgraded, and things are working fine. Thanks.
Where did you buy this module? I can just buy the bluetooth cradle "Model B" for the BMW and it will work in my 2004 A8?
If so, why isn't this advertised more? I have been searching all over the internet for something like this?
If and after I get this module, do I have to go to the dealer for anything? Right now, my phone is not active and my OnStar doesn't seem to be active either.

I bought the module and the cradle. However, I still get the error message about my phone not being activated. Any ideas?
