Eibach pro street kit, first impressions
I got the Eibach pro street kit with an upgraded sway bar. At first I thought it was way too stiff, but then I compared it with my roommate's relatively new A6 and I think my perception was skewed by the fact that my old suspension was worn out. It's actually only a little stiffer than the new A6.
It is however *much* lower than I expected. It's almost an inch lower than the stock S4 parked next to me in the parking lot at the shop. I feel like I'm sitting in a hole. I'd better be hypersensitive to speed bumps, steep driveways, and parking blocks for a while.
For some things, it seems smoother than my old stock (sport) suspension but concrete freeways are bumpy and I can't put my head on the headrest without gutting thumped a bit. Regular roads are VERY smooth though.
Cornering is like I'm driving on a railroad track. No body roll. In fact, not only is the steering more responsive, but the nose of the car doesn't lift when I stomp on the gas, or dive when I stomp on the brakes. All power and control inputs are incredibly precise.

Day 2 Update:
OK I have driven it a bit more and on a greater variety of stuff. Getting more used to being so low. I must say, from a pure performance standpoint, this kit is very nice. Power delivery during cornering feels far more confident than it ever was. I suspect I'll be able to get away with a lot more when I really start pushing it.
Perhaps it's the new tires, but my car is *A LOT* quieter now. The ride is very smooth even on bumpy roads. Above 35, most small road bumps are smooth as glass. Big bumps hit pretty hard though, and thankfully the suspension recovers very very quickly. Parking lot speed is a bit too firm, but I think I'll get used to it. Potholes are quite jarring and speed bumps are my worst enemy. The good news is, I haven't bottomed it out yet.
Walking speed is really rough and you feel every imperfection on the road. This is rarely an issue however.
