Hi, i'm installing the Stasis/Koni Street sport coilover on the car, and am wondering how folks managed to get the top nut screwed down onto the shaft with the suspension plate in place? Did you have to cut the bumpstop? Stasis' directions do not mention having to do this, but without doing it, I can't get enough of the shaft exposed to get the nut on (see pics for details)!

Like akula said..pull both ends of the shock and get it to full extension...
I don't think you have to cut the bumpstop..and I have done a few stasis installs myself.

the bumpstop should be right; and OMG, how do you adjust the rear ride height?
thanks for replies; the bumpstop should be right, as the bottom facing the shock was the part that I pulled out of the plastic ring...
And, how do you adjust rear ride height unless you either 1) pull the spring out and adjust the perch, or 2) buy VW VAGCOM spring compressor tool (ordinary spring compressor tools wouldn't fit right in that space?)?

You use the supplied wrenches.
Adjusting heights on the KONI coilovers is NOT easy. There is limited space for the wrenches, and getting them to rotate is a task in itself. It's for this reason we highly recommend our Vogtland coilovers. Adjusting rear height is a piece of cake, and doesn't even need the wheels taken off.
Give Stasis a call for their recommendations, it is their product and they're most intimately familiar with it.
The bumpstop in your photograph is upside down. The straight cylindrical portion should face the upper control arms, while the rounded portion should face the shock.
