I bought a Bilstein PSS coilover system for my mk1 TT a couple of years ago. Really like the kit, looks good and handles well. Recently my rear driver side shock absorber blew out. I called Bilstein and they said they don't keep those exact shocks in stock and I would have to pay $230 and wait two months for one to be manufactured in Germany. Ain't nobody got time for dat.

Anyone else have similar issues? Know where I could get this shock replaced sooner?

Huh? They have a lifetime warranty don't they? Seems to be their problem. Can you say more? Get and read the warranty document.

As it turns out the Billstein rep I spoke to initially was a complete bonehead. After calling back and speaking to someone else I'm waiting on my replacement shock in the mail and I will send my busted one in asap. They will determine if it was a factory defect and if it is I will be refunded for the replacement shock.
I never responded before because there wasn't much to respond to and I already had the issue worked out.
