Default Grrr why must a decent rifle scope cost so much.

Leupold Compact 3-9x33 A/O Gloss Duplex E.F.R.

Supposed to be the ideal scope for a 22LR, adjustable parallax from 10 meters to infinity, 3 to 9 power. Of course the killer Leupold build quality...all American made. I have a Leupold VX-II 6-18x AO Target Model on my Remington 700 and love it...it's not so hard to spend that much money for a scope for the Remington. But to justify spending that much for a scope for my Ruger K10/22T was a bit tougher. The scope basically costs what the rifle did (minus the DROS and tax on the rifle)...add in base and rings and the rifle was cheaper than the scope...and we're talking about the top of the line 10/22 Stainless Bull Barrel target model.

*sigh* I got a Simmons 1022T for it thinking it would be a good scope for the money. Got it today...while it's decent, it's not red hot. Had the general feeling of being put together in haste, little scratches...screws kinda damaged by being torqued at the factory. The reticle has a little extra something on the heavy part of the duplex reticle line...and the printing and inking of the engraved parts of the scope just BLOWS....made in Korea, yours for the low low price of $125. Well I'm getting the Leupold...while 3x's the price at least I can rest easy at night knowing I bought a high quality scope that will never let me down or leave me wishing for better.

Regards,

James R.

Default I have my own bird should I decide that I'd like to shoot one

I don't kill animals, I target shoot. There are legitimate uses for guns that don't involve death and destruction.

Default That's good to know actually. More people should think of it as a sport.
